Nettles in Pearl Fog Ruined Hospital Chapel in inside a ruined hospital wing open to drafts in Michigan

Nettles in Pearl Fog Ruined Hospital Chapel

by Liam Robles

Cool, pre-dawn light falls through broken window frames into a crumbling hospital corridor, illuminating floating dust particles in the air. Pearl fog drifts across the peeling linoleum floor, where clusters of green nettles have erupted through deep cracks in the concrete. The corridor stretches forward, framed by the jagged remnants of a doorframe on the left and a collapsed wall section on the right. Flakes of white paint hang from the high, stained ceiling, catching the faint morning glow. The walls show layers of decay, with exposed brick and plaster revealing decades of abandonment. A shaft of pale light cuts across the floor, highlighting the sharp edges of the nettles against the gray, textured debris scattered around the base of the wall. The air looks thick with moisture, condensing on the cold, damp surfaces of the ruined interior.
