Foggy Chapel Corridor Ruin with Nettles in along a derelict corridor with peeled paint and pooled water in Belo Horizonte

Foggy Chapel Corridor Ruin with Nettles

by Marco Clarke

Pearl fog fills the crumbling corridor of a derelict chapel in Belo Horizonte, softening the edges of peeling paint and exposed brick. Cool blue hour twilight permeates the space, illuminating pooled water that mirrors distant city lights beginning to glow beyond the structure. Stinging nettles rise in clusters through the fractured floor tiles, their green stems stark against the gray stone. Soft reflections ripple on the damp surfaces, elongating the faint luminescence from the urban horizon. Moisture hangs in the air, visible in the way light diffuses through the mist clinging to the walls. A jagged crack in the baseboard catches the fading blue, marking the boundary between the interior decay and the awakening city outside.
