Abandoned Hospital Corridors in Cotswold Ruins in among collapsed cloisters in the Cotswolds

Abandoned Hospital Corridors in Cotswold Ruins

by Mark Booth

Peeling white paint flakes from the crumbling walls of an abandoned hospital corridor, revealing layers of grey plaster beneath. Soft, diffused late-afternoon light falls through broken windows, illuminating dust motes suspended in humid air. Moss and ivy creep up the stone foundations of the surrounding collapsed cloisters, their green hues against the damp, grey Cotswold stone. The floor is slick with rainwater, reflecting the pale sky and jagged fragments of ceiling debris. Leading lines of the decaying architecture guide the view toward a distant, open archway where nature has begun to reclaim the space. One patch of wet concrete near the foreground glistens under the fading sun.
