Nettles Claiming Ruined Refectory in Rwanda
Green nettles rise thick and untamed between the legs of wooden tables inside a roofless stone refectory. Tall columns lie toppled across the floor, their rough surfaces softened by moss and climbing vines. Low-hanging clouds press down under a flat, white sky, casting even, shadowless light across the gray masonry. The turn of seasons leaves the ground covered in fresh green shoots rather than dry straw. A natural frame of thick branches in the foreground partially obscures the view, focusing attention on the quiet reclamation of the space.
