Pale walls reflect the soft gray daylight entering from a distant window, illuminating a corridor where water has risen to cover the floor tiles. Broken glass shards scatter across the wet surface, catching the light in sharp, jagged glints. Plaster flakes hang precariously from the ceiling and drift onto the debris-strewn floor. The early autumn air leaves the room feeling still, with dust settling on the damp surfaces. A silhouette of a doorway frames the end of the hall, where the light falls strongest against the dark interior. The texture of the peeling paint contrasts with the smooth, reflective water, creating a stark visual of decay.
