Copper-toned light falls through the water, illuminating a sea fan swaying gently beside a dark volcanic reef overhang. The fan stands in sharp silhouette against the glowing orange low-angle beam, its delicate, lacy branches forming a complex network against the bright background. A soft haze of plankton fills the distance, diffusing the light and creating a layered depth that fades into murky shadows. The rough, porous texture of the black volcanic rock contrasts with the smooth, translucent quality of the sea fan's skeleton. Tiny suspended particles drift in the current, catching the last rays of the sun before the water turns to night. The scene rests on the boundary between the illuminated foreground and the deepening blue of the reef beyond.
