Late afternoon light falls through the water column, casting a bright, diffuse glow that turns the ocean floor into a stage of deep shadows. A flamboyant cuttlefish moves across the dark, rough surface of a volcanic reef overhang near Cebu. Its body appears as a stark, intricate silhouette against the shimmering water above, with tentacles splayed as if walking along the seabed. Fine plankton haze softens the background, blurring the distance into a muted blue gradient. The cool season air is not felt, but the water clarity and angle of light suggest a crisp, clear day. Textured basalt rocks frame the lower edge, while the cuttlefish's skin ripples with subtle movement, catching the faintest edge of reflected light before fading into the underwater quiet.
