The artificial reef structure stands as a dark silhouette, its rough concrete edges softened by thick clusters of orange and brown sponges. Delicate sea fans fan out from the base, their porous textures visible against the bright blue backdrop. Suspended particles glitter in the midmorning light, creating a field of scattered sparks throughout the water column. The cool season air remains invisible, yet the clarity of the water suggests crisp conditions. Fine sand grains drift past the reef base, settling gently on the ocean floor. One sponge pore catches the light, glowing faintly against the deep shadow of the structure.
