Sea Fan Bent by Current on Cebu Reef Wall

Sunlight fractures into shimmering beams as it penetrates the wet season water, illuminating a vibrant orange sea fan bent sharply to the right by a strong underwater current. The fan rests against a dark, rough volcanic rock overhang, its delicate branches sweeping in the same direction as the flow. Suspended particles glitter throughout the water column, catching the reflected light from the surface above. A small, pale fish hovers motionless near the base of the fan, against the dynamic curve of the coral. The background dissolves into a soft blur of teal and grey rock, isolating the textured surface of the sea fan against the deep blue void. Tiny specks of sediment drift past the fan's tip, showing the invisible force pushing through the reef.
