Abandoned Glass Factory Ruins in Minas Gerais

by Jack Dyer

Soft overcast light falls through the skeletal remains of a glass factory in Minas Gerais. Tall toppled columns lie scattered across the muddy ground, their stone surfaces softened by the monsoon season. Green nettles push through cracks in the earth, creeping toward shelves where heavy glass crucibles still rest in their original positions. The sky above is a perfectly clear blue, contrasting sharply with the damp, gray ruins below. Dust coats the curved walls of the crucibles, while water droplets rest on the rough textures of the fallen masonry. One shadow stretches long across the wet stones near the base of a broken pillar.
