Fading blue water envelops a vibrant mandarin fish glowing with orange and blue patterns against a dark reef crevice. The creature hovers weightlessly near the rocky outcrop, its intricate skin texture sharp against the dim surface glow filtering down from above. Fine suspended particles glitter throughout the water column, catching the last light of the day. The clear water near Cairns reveals the sandy bottom and scattered coral formations in the background. The fish remains motionless, a splash of warm color in the cooling twilight. Tiny specks of plankton drift lazily around the crevice, illuminated by the soft, ambient light that fades into the deep.
