Blue Tang School Streaming Along Reef Edge at Sunset

Vibrant orange light cuts through the tropical shallows near Cairns, illuminating a dense school of blue tangs as they stream along the edge of a barrier reef. The water remains exceptionally clear, revealing layers of depth that recede into the distance beneath a rocky ledge. Individual fish display electric blue bodies and yellow tails, moving in synchronized motion against the warm glow. Slow-moving surface ripples distort the sunlight above, casting shifting patterns of light and shadow across the sandy bottom and coral structures. The dry season air holds no haze, allowing the luminous mystery of the submerged school to stand out against the darkening reef silhouette.
