Coral Spawning Night Blue Water Cairns

A beam of white light cuts through the deep indigo water, illuminating a dense cloud of coral gametes rising from the reef wall. The spherical bundles glow with a soft, milky luminescence against the dark backdrop of the ocean. Tiny particles drift slowly upward, suspended in the exceptionally clear liquid. The surface ripples above create a subtle, undulating distortion on the light beam, adding movement to the stillness. Behind the rising spawn, the textured surface of the coral wall remains in shadow, its rough edges barely visible. The light sweeps across the scene, revealing the delicate, translucent nature of the reproductive event in the dry season waters near Cairns. A faint shadow of a coral branch falls across the glowing cloud below.
