Narwhal Surfacing Through Arctic Ice at Dawn

Cold silver dawn light spills across a narrow channel of ice-scoured water near Iqaluit. A narwhal breaks the surface, its dark gray skin glistening against the stark white ice floes. The water is exceptionally clear, revealing the animal's massive form just beneath the thin ripples that spread slowly outward. Layers of jagged ice stretch into the distance, fading into a pale gray horizon where the sky meets the frozen sea. The scene holds a drifting, weightless quiet. A long, spiraled tusk pierces the water's surface, catching the faint morning light at its tip.
