Whale Shark Through Ice Haze in Midnight Sun

Tropical bright light penetrates the surface, illuminating a massive whale shark gliding beneath a pressure-ridged sheet of sea ice near Anchorage. The water holds a soft plankton haze that blurs the distant background while keeping the shark's spotted skin sharp against the cold blue. Broken surface ripples distort the sunlight into shifting patterns of gold and white across the ice ceiling above. The wide panoramic view shows the immense scale of the creature moving through the suspended, dreamlike calm of the midnight sun. Tiny bubbles rest on the rough texture of the ice, against the smooth, fluid motion of the shark below. A final ray of light catches the edge of a fin, highlighting the wet sheen of the skin.
