Manatee Calf and Mother South African Kelp Shelf

Hard midday sunlight penetrates the water, illuminating a mother manatee and her calf gliding along a kelp-fringed shelf. The coastal glare creates bright highlights on the wet, grey-brown skin of the adults while casting deep shadows beneath their bellies.
