Tropical bright light penetrates exceptionally clear water, illuminating a large manatee drifting through a dense forest of kelp fronds near Havana. The gray, wrinkled skin of the marine mammal contrasts with the translucent, swaying green blades that frame its body in a tight close-up view. Slow-moving surface ripples distort the sunlight into shifting patterns across the creature's broad back and flippers. The water clarity reveals fine textures on the kelp stems and the gentle folds of the manatee's hide. A faint reflection of the surface ripples glimmers on the animal's wet skin, marking the boundary between the underwater world and the air above.
