Harbor Seal Swimming Through Winter Kelp Forest

Bright open daylight penetrates exceptionally clear water to illuminate a rocky shelf along the South African coast. A harbor seal glides horizontally through dense stalks of kelp, its sleek grey body contrasting against the deep blue stillness of the ocean. The kelp fronds sway gently in slow-moving surface ripples that ripple down from above. Winter conditions are evident in the stark, cool tones of the water and the absence of other marine life. The seal's whiskers catch the light as it weaves between the vertical fronds. Sunlight fractures into shifting patterns across the rocky background, highlighting the texture of the stone and the smooth, wet skin of the seal. at the edge shows a single kelp blade curving sharply near the animal's tail.
