Horseshoe Crab Pair in Tandem on Sandy Shelf

Bright midmorning light pierces the blue water, forming distinct shafts that illuminate the sandy sea floor. Two horseshoe crabs move in tandem, their dark, armored carapaces contrasting against the pale sediment. Kelp fronds sway gently along the shelf edge near Mumbai, their green blades catching the filtered sun. A haze of plankton softens the distant background, creating a layered depth where light beams fade into the murk. The water surface above shimmers with ripples, casting shifting patterns of brightness across the scene. Tiny particles float in the current, suspended in the clear column. A sharp shadow falls beneath the rear crab, at the base of the pair firmly to the seabed.
