Jawfish Incubating Eggs in Queensland Waters

Green underwater light falls through the surface, breaking into shifting bands of brightness across the sandy seabed. A small jawfish hovers just above the sediment, its mouth slightly bulging as it holds a cluster of translucent eggs. Suspended particles glitter in the water column, catching the rippled light that dances across the fish's scales. The scene maintains an otherworldly blue stillness, with the dry season clarity allowing sharp visibility of the sandy floor and the fish's delicate fins. Fine grains of sand settle gently around the fish's tail, while the eggs inside its mouth remain perfectly still against the moving water. The jawfish's eye reflects the dappled surface light above.
