Jawfish Incubating Eggs Among Kelp Fronds

Sunlight falls through a dense forest of kelp fronds, casting shifting patterns of bright green and deep shadow across the sandy sea floor. A small jawfish hovers just above the sediment, its mouth slightly distended as it holds a cluster of translucent, pale eggs. The water is exceptionally clear, revealing the fine texture of the sand and the delicate veins in the swaying kelp blades. Late morning light creates dappled highlights on the fish's scales, which shimmer with iridescent blue and silver tones. Slow surface ripples distort the light above, creating a gentle, drifting effect. The fish remains perfectly still against the backdrop of the swaying marine forest, its weightless presence anchored by the quiet suspension of the eggs in its mouth.
