Barracuda Vortex Beside Volcanic Drop-off

Sunlight penetrates the turquoise water in sharp, vertical shafts, illuminating a tight spiral of barracuda swimming against a dark volcanic rock wall. The fish align their silver bodies into a cohesive vortex, their scales catching the reflected light to create flashes of white and blue. Flat noon glare flattens the surface ripples above, casting a steady, even brightness through the clear column. The volcanic drop-off rises steeply on the left, its rough, basalt texture against the smooth, fluid motion of the school. Fine sand and small rocks scatter across the seabed below the swirling fish. One ray of light strikes the tail of the lead barracuda, highlighting the translucent edge of its fin against the deep shadow of the rock face.
