Spiraling Jack Fish School Over Cebu Reef

Midday sunlight falls through the rain-washed surface, illuminating a vertical reef pinnacle near Cebu with bright, washed-out intensity. A tight vortex of jack fish spirals around the rock, their dark bodies forming a sharp silhouette against the glowing water above. Fine suspended particles glitter in the water column, catching the overhead glare and creating a field of scattered light. The reef crevice below holds deep shadows, against the bright column of light falling across the school. Each fish aligns with the rotation, their fins tracing the curve of the spiral along the rock face. The movement of the school rests on the stillness of the stone beneath.
