Barracuda School Circling Shipwreck in Indonesia
Midday sunlight pierces the deep blue water in distinct, shimmering shafts that illuminate a scattered school of barracuda swimming above a rusted shipwreck deck. The silver bodies of the fish reflect the light as they move in a tight, circular formation. A soft haze of plankton diffuses the background, reducing visibility and adding a milky texture to the distance. The sunlit metal beams of the wreck lie horizontal and dark beneath the swirling fish, their surfaces pitted with corrosion and marine growth. Green algae rests on the lower edges of the deck, against the bright water above. The entire scene exists in a state of suspended motion, with the light beams cutting through the water column to highlight the sharp edges of the fish against the hazy blue void. A final ray of light catches the tip of a jagged metal protrusion on the deck floor.
