Silhouetted Heron Stalks Misty Shallows at Dawn
Pale morning light cuts through thick mist along the Salerno coast, turning a great blue heron into a dark, sharp silhouette against the glowing horizon haze. The bird stands motionless in shallow water, its long neck curved in a patient, predatory arc. Dry season conditions leave the surrounding shallows exposed with patches of wet sand reflecting the pale sun. Fine mist rests on the water's surface, softening the edges of distant vegetation while the bird's feathers remain distinct against the bright background. The horizon line glows with a thin band of orange, against the cool gray tones of the fog that fills the foreground. One feather edge catches the light, defining the bird's profile against the bright haze.
