Heron Swallowing Fish Silhouetted in Autumn Light

Orange low-angle light bathes a Great Blue Heron standing knee-deep in the shallow waters near Boston. The bird is captured in silhouette, its long neck curved sharply as it forces a silver fish down its throat. The fish glints briefly against the dark feathers before disappearing into the swallow.
