Roman Aqueduct Under Jinan Bridge Mist

by Holden Tran

Thick, pale mist rests on the base of a massive Roman aqueduct structure, its weathered stone blocks rising vertically into the gray midday haze. The view looks upward from the ground, showing the sheer scale of the ancient masonry against the modern steel cables of a cable-stayed bridge spanning overhead. Sunlight filters weakly through the fog, casting soft, diffused shadows across the rough, eroded surfaces of the arches. The heavy concrete and stone textures contrast with the sleek, silver tension of the bridge cables above. Mist swirls around the lower pillars, obscuring the connection to the earth and leaving the structure floating in a white void. at the edge is a thin line of wet moss clinging to the shadowed corner of the lowest stone block.
