Cold silver light spills across the wet concrete floor of a pumping station nestled beneath a massive cable-stayed bridge span. Thick ground fog pools around the base of heavy steel pumps and cylindrical tanks, obscuring the lower joints where metal meets stone. The morning haze softens the sharp angles of the support cables stretching upward into the pale sky. Rust-colored bolts contrast against the sleek, dark surfaces of the machinery, while water droplets rest on the lower edges of the pipes. The perspective looks up from the damp ground, showing the towering scale of the infrastructure against the emerging dawn. One reflection of a vertical pipe glimmers on the wet concrete near the foreground.
