Glass Elephant Herd River Sunset Venezuela in on a wind-scoured ridge in Venezuela

Glass Elephant Herd River Sunset Venezuela

by Bill Huffman

Amber light floods a wind-scoured ridge in Venezuela where a herd of elephants pauses at the river's edge. The sky churns with heavy monsoon clouds, their undersides glowing orange from the setting sun. One massive elephant stands perfectly transparent like cut glass, yet retains the deep grey tint of its skin. Water ripples around its legs, visible through the translucent hide, while the other elephants remain solid and textured with rough, mud-caked skin. The impossible transparency creates a stark contrast against the heavy, wet atmosphere. A reflection of the glass trunk shimmers on the dark, churning water surface.
