Hundred Praus Cutting Through Jakarta Mist
Honeyed evening light wraps the horizon, illuminating a wooden prau with outriggers as it slices through thick, gray mist near Jakarta. The foreground vessel cuts sharply through dark, dry-season waves, its weathered wood grain and wet hull details rendered in high contrast. Behind this single boat, the impossible grid emerges: hundreds of identical praus duplicate endlessly into the distance, their hulls and masts forming a rigid, rhythmic pattern that vanishes at the horizon line. The mist thickens between the rows of boats, softening the edges of the background duplicates while keeping the nearest vessel crisp and solid. Converging lines of the outriggers and wave crests pull toward the vanishing point, where the grid of boats merges with the glowing, charged sky. A reflection of the nearest hull's prow shimmers on the churning water surface.
