Forsaken Guyana Water Park Blue Hour
Tall grasses surge through the cracked concrete courtyard of an abandoned water park in Guyana, their green blades against the fading blue light of dusk. Curved slides, stripped of their former vibrancy, dip into dry, sediment-filled pools that hold shallow reflections of the sky. Dramatic, heavy clouds loom above, casting shifting shadows across the wet surfaces where rain has pooled. The architecture stands silent, its bright colors muted by years of neglect and the encroaching monsoon vegetation. Water droplets rest on the smooth fiberglass of the slide entrances, while roots from nearby trees push through the pavement edges, marking the slow takeover by the tropical forest. One reflection of a gray cloud ripples in a stagnant puddle near the base of the main slide.
