Elephant Calf in Misty Reed Bed at Waterhole

Thick mist hangs low over the waterhole edge, softening the horizon where honeyed evening light wraps the scene. A young elephant calf stands knee-deep in the dark water, its gray skin slick with wet mud and glistening with droplets. Tall reeds rise behind the animal, their green stalks muted by the fog. The calf lowers its trunk, sending small ripples across the still surface. Golden light catches the wet texture of its ears and the rough folds around its legs. The water reflects the pale sky above, blending with the mist. One mud splatter rests on the calf's flank, marking the playful movement.
