Christmas Tree Worm on Zanzibar Volcanic Reef

Hard coastal glare pierces the turquoise water, illuminating a vibrant Christmas tree worm spiraling atop a jagged volcanic coral head. The worm's feathery radioles unfurl in a tight spiral, displaying vivid orange and pink hues against the rough, dark gray rock. Fine plankton haze drifts through the water column, softening the background and reducing visibility of the reef overhang behind. Sunlight fractures into sharp beams that dance across the coral's porous surface, highlighting the texture of the volcanic stone. The worm remains perfectly still, its feathery plumes creating a delicate contrast to the heavy, ancient rock beneath. Tiny suspended particles catch the light, adding a shimmering layer of depth to the submerged scene.
