Sunrise Over Zanzibar Volcanic Reef Layers

Pale golden light spills across the glassy surface of the Indian Ocean, illuminating a vibrant barrier reef situated beside a dark volcanic overhang near Zanzibar. The water transitions from deep indigo in the shadows of the rock face to translucent turquoise where the sun first touches the surface. Beneath the slow-moving ripples, intricate coral structures and scattered fish become visible in the exceptionally clear water. Layers of depth recede from the jagged black stone in the foreground toward the distant horizon, where the sky meets the sea.
