Blue Whale Surfaces at Volcanic Drop-off

Deep shadow engulfs the vast winter ocean while a rim of pale morning light traces the curve of a blue whale surfacing. The massive creature stands silhouetted against the bright horizon, its skin appearing as a dark, smooth expanse. A tall spout of mist rises from the blowhole, catching the low sun and glowing faintly before dissolving into the air. The water below is exceptionally clear, revealing the slow, heavy movement of ripples across the surface. Behind the whale, the dark silhouette of a volcanic drop-off descends steeply into the depths, marking the edge of the continental shelf. The scene holds a stillness where the only motion is the gentle breathing of the whale and the slow roll of the sea.
