Dolphin Silhouette Twilight Volcanic Drop-off in beside a volcanic drop-off in British Columbia

Dolphin Silhouette Twilight Volcanic Drop-off

by Roy Espinoza

Late autumn twilight casts the British Columbia coast in deep indigo hues where a bottlenose dolphin rides a pressure wave. The animal appears as a dark, streamlined silhouette against the fading light, its dorsal fin cutting through the exceptionally clear water. Behind it, a steep volcanic drop-off rises from the depths, its rough basalt texture barely visible in the dimming glow. Slow-moving surface ripples create a soft, shimmering distortion at the top of the frame, while the water remains still around the creature. The scene is defined by the contrast between the smooth curve of the dolphin and the jagged, dark rock face. A faint shadow of the animal stretches across the sandy bottom. The edge of the volcanic wall disappears into the abyss below.
