Basalt Column at Yunnan Tidal Waterfall Evening

Deep shadow swallows the lower rock face of a towering basalt column rising from the wave-cut shoreline. A sharp rim of pale evening light traces the jagged upper edge, separating the dark stone from the churning water below. Early summer mist rests on the air, whipping the surface of the waterfall into a frothy, horizontal blur that suggests strong wind.
