Basalt Column Tidal Waterfall Mist Colorado Valley

Thick mist blankets the wide valley floor, softening the edges of a vertical basalt column rising from the dark water. The stone surface shows rough, hexagonal textures where moisture rests on the gray rock. Above, the sky holds a pale, diffused light typical of late spring twilight. In the distance, the horizon glows with the warm, scattered points of city lights beginning to emerge against the cooling air. The water flows gently around the base of the column, its movement barely visible through the heavy fog. A faint reflection of the distant glow shimmers on the wet stone near the waterline, at the base of the stillness of the landscape in the quiet transition from day to night.
