Snorkeler Over Garden Eels Near Salvador Drop-off

Hard coastal glare penetrates the exceptionally clear water, illuminating a snorkeler suspended above a dense field of garden eels. The eels sway in unison against the volcanic drop-off, their pale bodies against the dark rock. Surface ripples move slowly overhead, distorting the light into shifting patterns on the seabed. The water clarity reveals individual sand grains and the delicate texture of the eels' fins. Shallow depth of field blurs the background rock while keeping the snorkeler's gear and the nearest eels in sharp focus. A thin line of sunlight reflects off the snorkeler's mask, marking the boundary between the air and the submerged world.
