Silhouetted Reef Shark in Belize Monsoon Light

Soft, diffused afternoon light penetrates the turquoise water near a volcanic reef overhang beside Belize City. A reef shark swims above the edge of a kelp forest, its dark form rendered as a sharp silhouette against the brighter water column. Fine sand particles suspended in the current glitter like scattered diamonds, catching the shafts of light filtering down from the surface. The water holds a luminous, submerged clarity, revealing the rough texture of the volcanic rock and the flowing fronds of the kelp. The shark's dorsal fin cuts a clean line through the shimmering, particle-filled water, ending near a cluster of floating debris caught in the gentle current.
