Remora Hitching Ride on Manta Ray at Sunset

Warm golden light falls through the water, illuminating the smooth, dark grey belly of a massive manta ray gliding near a steep volcanic drop-off. A small remora clings firmly to the ray's underside, its flattened body and suction disc visible against the host's skin. The water holds a soft haze of plankton, blurring the distant rock face into muted tones. Early winter clarity keeps the foreground sharp while the background fades into the deep blue. Sunlight creates a shimmering path across the ray's wings, against the shadowed recesses of the drop-off. The remora's faint shadow falls directly onto the manta's belly, anchoring the two creatures in a moment of shared motion through the still water.
