Manta Ray Somersaults Plankton Cloud Italy Dawn

Starlight falls through the water column above a kelp-fringed shelf in late autumn Italy. A massive manta ray performs a slow somersault through a dense cloud of bioluminescent plankton. The water holds a soft haze that blurs distant kelp fronds into vertical gray-green strokes. Faint ground glow from the seabed reflects off the ray's smooth, charcoal skin, highlighting the white edges of its pectoral fins. Dark kelp stalks sway gently in the still water, their tips fading into the gloom. The plankton particles glow with a cool blue-white luminescence, swirling around the animal's flippers. A trail of bubbles rises from the ray's mouth, catching the faint light as it ascends toward the surface.
