Flying Fish Above Jamaican Waves

Soft overcast light diffuses across the surface of turquoise Caribbean water, creating a muted glow on the choppy waves. A small flying fish breaks the water line, its silver body catching the pale sky. Fine plankton haze blurs the background, softening the horizon into a pale wash of blue and gray. The fish's translucent fins spread wide against the droplets of spray clinging to its scales. Tiny ripples radiate outward where the body exits the water, freezing the moment of ascent. The texture of the wet skin glistens against the matte surface of the ocean, while droplets hang suspended in the air near the tail.
