Pelican Scooping Fish at Dominican Sunset
Rich amber light floods the wet season waters as a brown pelican dives with open wings and a bill full of fish. The bird hovers just above the surface, its throat pouch expanded and feathers ruffled by the motion. Behind it, a perfectly clear sky holds the fading sun, casting long reflections across the rippling water. From a low angle, the bird appears massive against the horizon, its talons tucked tight and eyes focused forward. The tension in its outstretched neck contrasts with the stillness of the distant shoreline. One fish gleams silver in the beak's grasp.
