Silhouetted Flying Fish Over South African Waves

Cold moonlight bathes the dark ocean surface, revealing a single flying fish suspended mid-air against the faint glow of the water below. The fish appears as a sharp, black silhouette, its pectoral fins spread wide as it glides just above the breaking crests. Tiny suspended particles in the water column catch the silver light, creating a glittering field beneath the creature. Early summer air hangs still, carrying no visible movement other than the gentle rise and fall of the swells. The horizon line dissolves into deep indigo shadows, showing the isolation of the jump. A final ripple spreads outward from where the fish will re-enter the sea.
