Blood Moon Over River Mist and Cranes

A deep crimson moon hangs low above a wind-scoured ridge in Nicaragua, casting a faint glow on swirling river mist. Silhouetted against the indigo twilight sky, great blue cranes stand motionless in the shallow water below. Their long legs anchor them firmly in the muddy bank while dramatic, heavy clouds stack behind the lunar disc. Distant town lights flicker as a thin orange band along the horizon, against the cool blues of the wet season night. The cranes' feathers appear dark and dense, catching the edge of the moonlight. One bird tilts its head slightly, its long beak pointing toward the shimmering water surface. The mist curls around the base of the ridge, obscuring the ground below.
