Blue Twilight Irrigation Canals Hawaii Rice Paddies in along freshly irrigated rows in Hawaii

Blue Twilight Irrigation Canals Hawaii Rice Paddies

by Marco Reilly

Cool blue light from the twilight sky reflects off the surface of irrigation canals cutting through freshly irrigated rice paddies in Hawaii. Soft fog hangs low over the water, blurring the horizon where the fields meet the darkening air. Emerald green rice stalks stand in neat rows along the wet earth banks, their leaves glistening with moisture from the rainy season. The water moves slowly through the channels, carrying the deep indigo of the evening sky. Wet soil borders the flooded sections, dark and saturated. A weathered wooden stake stands upright in the shallow water at the edge of the frame, its rough texture visible against the smooth, misty surface.
