Lunar Rainbow Over Tropical Gorge Night
by Victor Hays
Cold moonlight washes the tropical gorge in silver tones, revealing faint mist rising from the dark water below. A ghostly lunar rainbow arcs across the deep sky, its colors barely visible against the starfield. The air appears crisp and dry, holding the moisture that creates the arc without obscuring the distant peaks. Shadows stretch long and sharp across the rocky gorge walls, showing the stark contrast between the illuminated water and the surrounding darkness. Vegetation along the rim stands silhouetted against the pale glow. The arc curves gently from one cliff edge to the other, a delicate bridge of refracted light. At the water's surface, tiny ripples catch the faint hue, marking the exact point where the light meets the earth. The stars above remain distinct and unmoving, framing the impossible curve in a field of cold distance.
