Wind Carved Clay Ridges Before Sunrise

Low golden light strikes the horizon haze, illuminating the sharp edges of wind-carved clay ridges in a New Mexico yardang field. Late summer heat shimmers in the air, blurring the distant shoreline where water once cut the land. The foreground rests on wet, reflective clay that mirrors the sculpted peaks above, creating a perfect symmetrical composition. Textures range from smooth, water-worn surfaces to jagged, eroded spires standing in quiet solitude. Shadows stretch long across the damp ground, showing the depth of the furrows. A final line of dark clay marks the boundary between the reflection and the solid earth.
