Wind Carved Clay Yardang in Rajasthan Valley

Soft, diffused light from a recent rain bathes a wide valley floor in Rajasthan, highlighting the textured surface of a solitary clay yardang. The formation rises from the cracked, dry earth with undulating ridges carved by persistent winds, its reddish-brown tones muted by the dampness. Sparse, drought-resistant tufts of grass rest on the crevices, against the smooth, eroded slopes. The sky above is a pale, washed-out blue, suggesting the clearing of a storm. The vastness of the valley stretches into the distance, framed by the stark silhouette of the eroded mound against the open horizon. A fine layer of dust settles on the lower ridges, catching the light and showing the depth of the grooves.
